50 years ago (1961)
Effective immediately, Ray Korda, who had been manager of the Goodyear Service Store here for the past 14 months, was named a field representative for wholesale sales with headquarters in Anchorage, Alaska. His place was taken by Bob Bozorth who had been manager of the Northgate Goodyear store.
Opening of Mele’s Pet Salon at 3103 Colby Ave. was announced by Mildred Carreira. She would feature the handling and care of pets, including trimming of French poodles. Carreira had had 11 years of such experience in Hawaii recently returning from there with her nine cats, French poodle, parakeet and three children.
25 years ago (1986)
Several Everett schools were to have new lighting systems under a bid awarded to Grater Electric. Improvements were planned for Jackson, Lowell and Emerson elementary schools and for Cascade High School.
Prima, Pacific Resources in the Major Arts, was holding a free open house at the Lynnwood Shopping Center at 196th Street and Highway 99. Michael Kraft, chairman of the board, said they would eventually have all kinds of art. Further information could be obtained by contacting Kraft or Dorene Kenkman.
