50 YEARS AGO (1959)
Deanna Pearl Williamson, Seaman recruit and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perl Williamson of Everett, recently completed recruit training for women at the United States Naval Training Center, Brainbridge, Md.
Co-captains Jim Lambright and Ron Gilbert shared the inspiration trophy voted by their teammates of the 1959 Everett High School football team. George Rygg, quarterback, received the scholarship and blocking awards. All three were Western All-Stars along with Steve Simmons, Jack Meyers, John Sievers, Paul Harbeck and Dale Lemaster.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
A man was known for the company he kept. In Everett, the company was Business Insurance Concepts Inc., and the man was Ron Edlin. He had lived in the Everett-Mukilteo area for 15 years. The company’s offices were at 3802 Colby Ave.
There were more than “three coins in the fountain” at the Everett Mall. In fact, $2,201.85 in coins was collected from the fountain waters through Nov. 1, all going to the Volunteers of America food bank. That total could push to $3,000 by the end of the year, predicted Patricia Curran, marketing director at the mall.
