50 YEARS AGO (1960)
An agriculturist turned pharmacist was the new owner-manager of Tozer’s Pharmacy at 2729 Colby Ave., Everett. William Kyle said the drugstore would retain its name and personnel.
The new pastor at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 24th Street and Hoyt Avenue, Everett, took over the pulpit. The Rev. Lowell Knutson succeeded the Rev. Milton Nesse, now pastor at a Bremerton church. The new pastor and his wife, Shirley, had five children.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
Terry Filer was appointed by the Snohomish City Council to fill the at-large position recently vacated by Chuck Cooper. Filer, a seven-year resident of Snohomish, was a captain with the Everett Fire Department.
Re-elected to the Snohomish County Noxious Weed Board were Pete Poertinga of Marysville, Wayne Ledford of Darrington and Stan Faber of Arlington. All were dairymen. Carryover members of the board were Dick Barr, Monroe dairyman, and Gale Wallace, Snohomish pea grower.
