50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Betty Jane Trexler and Patrick Francis Maher exchanged wedding vows Dec. 26 in Kempton, Pa. They honeymooned in the Southwest and now made their home in Mukilteo.
Alvin Hereth was to be installed as president of Snohomish Kiwanis Club during a ladies night dinner meeting in the parish hall of Snohomish Episcopal Church. Other officers and directors to be installed were Clyde Kelley, Roy Fritch, Rex Taylor, Montie Haworth, Wayne Clizer, Ed Stocker Jr., Eldon Harvey, Maurice McNeely, Charles Coleman, George Gilbertson and Gerald Bauer. Outgoing president was the Rev. James E. Price.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
Plans for a Navy base in Everett were on schedule and no major delays were anticipated because of possible budget limitations, a ranking Pentagon official told residents.
Construction in the area was up substantially in nearly all categories, Everett Public Works Department reported this week.
