Sesame Street Live! will come to Everett for the first time for seven shows at the Everett Events Center.
Families are invited to join in the musical fun from Thursday to Sunday.
The well known Sesame Street characters, including Elmo, Ernie and Bert, Oscar and Big Bird, will provide a lively outing filled with familiar music, including “Rockin’ Robin” and “The Alphabet Song,” as well as lessons about teamwork, patience and other values in one of the company’s latest productions, “Elmo Makes Music.”
The story introduces a new character, a music teacher named Jenny. Before she can start teaching the Sesame Street “kids” music, she must enlist their help in finding instruments to play, because the truck with her usual instruments have disappeared.
As the search for new instruments goes on, the characters learn that they can make music from almost anything, and that it’s fun for everyone to play music together.
They display their trademark personalities, which are a big part of why the show has been so popular since its debut in November 1969.
“Kids can relate to Oscar the grouch if they’re grouchy, Elmo when they’re curious and Cookie Monster when they’re hungry, for example,” said publicist Jennie Rose. “Parents love it because the kids learn while they’re having fun, without really realizing that they’re learning.”
