“Sing It Forward” is a benefit concert Jan. 29 to help pay for scholarships for students to attend Village Theatre’s Kidstage program.
It’s also the first-ever public performance in the newly renovated Village Theatre Second Stage and Youth Education Center in downtown Everett.
“Sing It Forward” features performances from current Kidstage students along with some special guests including Kidstage alum Caitlin Kinnunen, who has performed on Broadway, actor Aaron C. Finley, who was recently seen in Village Theatre’s “Jesus Christ Superstar” and Lisa Nathans, an actor, director/producer, instructor and Kidstage staff member.
R.J. Tancioco will direct the music for the concert; he is directing the music for VT’s current production of “Annie Get Your Gun.”
The benefit concert is the dream of two Village Theatre Kidstage students, Jamie Kate Davelaar and Alison Ayubi, who realize the increasing demand for scholarship money among their peers.
“Sing It Forward” starts at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at Village Theatre Second Stage, 2730 Wetmore Ave., Everett. Tickets are $50. A dessert reception follows the concert.
