Taproot Theatre announces lineup

Seattle’s Taproot Theatre Company has announced the lineup for its upcoming season.

  • “Mr. Pim Passes By”: A 1919 comedy about a conventional English household that is rattled by a shocking announcement, kicks off the 2014 season with performances from Jan. 31 to March 1.
  • “In the Book Of”: The story of an army veteran who opens her home to an Afghan translator, but when the refuge’s visa is challenged, the whole town goes to war. Performances are March 28 through April 26.
  • “Diana of Dobson’s”: A young, overworked and underpaid woman receives a small inheritance and vows to “know what it’s like to have a royal time.” Performances May 16 to June 14.
  • “Jane Erye”: A classic love story of secrets, lies, hope and passion. Performances run from July 11 to Aug. 9.
  • “The Fabulous Lipitones”: The season concludes with a comedy about a barbershop quartet searching for a tenor before a national competition. Performances will run from Sept. 19, 2014, to Oct. 18.

The season features evening performances Wednesdays through Saturdays and matinee performances on Saturdays.

The season will open to new subscribers in October. Subscribers receive tickets at 40 percent less per performance than single tickets, priority seating, discounts on additional tickets, free ticket exchanges and a rewards card.

Single tickets will go on sale in January. For more information about subscriptions and single tickets, visit www.taproottheatre.org or contact the box office at 206-781-9707 or box@taproottheatre.org.

The 226-seat theater is at 204 North 85th St., Seattle. The box office is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and until show time on performance nights.
