Theater, dance and comedy shows around Snohomish County

The listings include Historic Everett Theatre, Edmonds Center for the Arts and Thumbnail Theater shows.

Most events listed here are contingent on whether each jurisdiction is approved to enter the corresponding phase of the governor’s four-phase reopening plan. Check with each venue for the latest information.

THEATER

Village Theatre: Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave.; 425-257-8600; www.villagetheatre.org/everett. The 2020-2021 season includes: “Mama Mia!,” “Hello, Dolly!,” “Deathtrap,” “Making Tracks” and “Ain’t Misbehavin’.” Season tickets for all five shows are $130-$390.

Phoenix Theatre: 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds; 206-533-2000; www.tptedmonds.org. ​Phoenix Theatre’s 2020-2021 season includes “The Miser,” “Inspecting Carol,” “37 Postcards,” “Mama Won’t Fly” and “Skin Flick.” Season tickets for all five performances are $110 for adults and $98 for seniors, students and military.

Red Curtain: The Red Curtain Arts Center, 9315 State Ave., Suite J, Marysville (in the Goodwill shopping center, behind the Everett Community College cosmetology school); 360-322-7402; redcurtainfoundation.org. “Six Degrees of Separation” will be live-streamed via Zoom at 7 p.m. Sept. 4-5 and Sept. 11-12. In the play, a young black con man named Paul insinuates himself into the lives of a wealthy New York couple, Ouisa and Flan Kittredge, claiming he knows their son at college. Tickets are $15 for an individual or $40 for a family watching from one screen. Red Curtain’s 2020-2021 season includes “And Then There Were None,” “Miracle on 34th Street,” “She Kills Monsters,” “As You Like It,” “The Rememberer,” “Into the Woods” and “Legendary Tales: Heroes and Monsters.” Season tickets for all seven shows are $125 for adults or $105 for seniors, students and military.

DANCE

Catapult: The dance company that specializes in shadow illusion, best known for their time on the hit show “America’s Got Talent,” performs at noon and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. Dancers working behind a screen to create shadow silhouettes of shapes from the world around us. Watch their bodies transform into a mountain, an elephant, a dragon and even a helicopter, and travel the world from Paris to Beijing in less than 10 minutes. Tickets are $10-$34. Call 425-275-9595.

COMEDY

The Irish Comedy Tour: The Irish Comedy Tour features the stand-up of four comedians whose ancestors hail from the Emerald Isle — Detroit native Derek Richards; Boston-born Mike McCarthy; Nova Scotia’s Damon Leibert; and from Inchicore, a suburb of Dublin, Ireland Derrick Keane. See the comedy show 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Tickets are $20-$35. More at www.yourhistoriceveretttheatre.org.

A Night of Improv: Exit 192 Improv will perform improvisational comedy 8 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. This adults-only show is completely unscripted and inspired by suggestions from the audience. Tickets are $12-$15. Call 425-258-6766 or go to www.yourhistoriceveretttheatre.org.

Seattle International Comedy Competition: The 41st annual touring comedy festival is Washington’s “Last Comic Standing.” Thirty-three comedians compete for the title and $15,000 in cash prizes. See the show 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. Tickets are $19-$39. More at www.edmondscenterforthearts.org.

The Dope Show: Watch comedians perform a sober set, then take a short intermission to get stoned, and get back on stage to perform under the influence 8 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett.
