“Conspiracy Theories”: Edmonds Driftwood Players and Phoenix Theatre have joined forces to present the results on Sept. 30 of a 24-hour play festival. Ticket holders get performances and snacks at both theaters, and admission to the casting assignment event the evening before. Four playwrights, four directors and 12 actors will, in 24 hours, write, rehearse and perform four plays at each venue. Act 1 begins at 6 p.m. Sept. 30 at Phoenix, 9673 Firdale Ave., and Act 2 is at 7:30 p.m. at Driftwood, 950 Main St. Tickets are $25 and include hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Outcast Players: The male and the female versions of Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple” will be presented on alternating nights through Oct. 8 at the Historic Everett Theatre. Shows are 7 p.m. Thursdays (two-for-one senior night), 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $12. Call 425-258-6766. The cast includes Justin Tinsely, Curt Shriner, Laura Shriner, Sam Samano, Tom Guerre, Carolyn Agee, Leslie Foley, Randy Yamanaka, ScottFreshman, Cheryl Phillips, David Goss-Grubbs and Yvonne Williams.

Phoenix Theatre: The comedy theater is at 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds. Call 206-533-2000 or go to www.phoenixtheatreedmonds.org. Season 10 tickets are now available via the website. “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” will be presented Oct. 6-29.

Edmonds Driftwood Players: Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds; www.edmondsdriftwoodplayers.org or 425-774-9600. Season tickets are still available. “Dracula!” by Seattle playwright Stephen Dietz will be staged Oct. 12-22. Directed by Paul Fleming, the cast includes Asa Sholdez, David Alan Morrison, Hanna Destiny Lynn, Emily Milburn, Jon Loina, Nate Thomsen, Phillio Keiman, Rebecca Erickson, Grace Madland, Justin Tinsely, Richard Morris and Joshua Behn. Tickets are $20 general or $18 for seniors, juniors, military.

Red Curtain: The Red Curtain Arts Center, 9315 State Ave., Suite J, Marysville (in the Goodwill shopping center, behind the Everett Community College cosmetology school). Noel Coward’s urbane comedy “Blithe Spirit” is on stage Oct. 20 through Nov. 5.

“Piaf! The Show”: Edmonds Center for the Arts offers this musical celebration of the rags-to-riches story of legendary French chanteuse Edith Piaf at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the center, 410 Fourth Ave. N. Tickets are $24-$59. Call 425-275-9595.

Village Theatre: Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave.; 425-257-8600 or www.villagetheatre.org/everett. “Into the Woods” Oct. 27-Nov. 19. Season tickets still available. Other shows are “Newsies,” “The Gin Game,” the new musical “String” and, finally, “Hairspray.”

META Performing Arts: The show “Stand and Deliver” will be performed Sept. 29 through Oct. 14 at the Lincoln Theatre, 712 First St., Mount Vernon. The regional theater company is producing the play, which tells the story of teacher Jaime Escalante and his mission to challenge his students to rise to their full potential. Whidbey Island Center for the Arts: WICA will stage the musical “The Fantasticks” Oct. 6-21 at the center in Langley. More information is at www.wicaonline.org.

Youth theater

Oliver!”: Village Theatre’s KidStage presents the kids version of this Tony Award-winning musical based on the Charles Dickens novel “Oliver Twist.” The show opens Oct. 20. Mukilteo’s Kalia Estes, 12, a Northshore Christian Academy sixth-grader, has the title role. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and a 2 p.m. Sunday matinees at the Cope Gillette Theatre, 2730 Wetmore Ave., Everett. Oliver, a neglected orphan, escapes from his workhouse apprenticeship and finds acceptance among a band of thieves and pickpockets who teach him their trade. But when Oliver’s intended pickpocket victim takes pity on him and offers him a real home, his former friends threaten his chance at a family. Tickets are $16 or $14 for youth and seniors. Improv Comedy Night: Held on third Saturdays at Cafe Zippy, 1502 Rucker Ave., Everett. Free.

Up in the Woods: An improvised horror show presented by Unexpected Productions at 8 p.m. Saturdays from Oct. 7-Oct. 28 at the Black Box Theater, 20310 68th Ave W, Lynnwood, on the Edmonds Community College campus.
