Good news for fans of Kyra Sedgwick’s Southern-charm-filled L.A. detective Brenda Johnson: “The Closer” has already been renewed for a third season, TNT announced today.

It just keeps getting bigger and better.

The show’s second season premiere three weeks ago scored the biggest-ever audience for an original, scripted show on cable. It beat its own previous record from last summer’s series premiere.

Sedgwick and Co. are doing something right, earning a place among the summer’s most reliable treats on cable, along with “Rescue Me” and “Monk.”

For that, Sedgwick’s Johnson would give a whole-hearted, “Thank yeeeeew.”
