Dial H for Hitchcock
A yearlong series of 12 of Alfred Hitchcock’s best films will be shown on the last Wednesday of the month at the Evergreen Branch of the Everett Public Library, 9512 Evergreen Way, Everett; call 425-257-8250. A screening and discussion will start at 1:30 p.m. and a screening only will start at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26, “Vertigo”: A retired detective (James Stewart) becomes obsessed with a friend’s wife (Kim Novak) in San Francisco (1958).
Reel World Cinema
First Presbyterian Church in Everett is hosting its Reel World Cinema series this fall on Fridays at 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. A potluck begins at 6 p.m. with movie starting at 7. The movies are free to attend. The series is titled “Paranoia Runs Deep: Fear, Love and the Other.” Next movie: Nov. 21 “Land of Plenty.”
Movies at the library
Bring your friends, have some popcorn and enjoy a movie at a branch of the Sno-Isle library system. Here’s a look at the upcoming schedule. Nov. 21: “Muppets Most Wanted,” Arlington Library, noon; “Monuments Men,” Freeland Library, 2 p.m. Nov. 22: “Wreck-it Ralph,” Granite Falls Library, 1 p.m.; “Maleficent,” Edmonds Library, 1 p.m.
Barefoot Bandit doc
“The Barefoot Bandit Documentary” is showing at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 at the Historic Everett Theatre. The documentary follows the exploits of the infamous young airplane thief who evaded the FBI from the Northwest to the Bahamas. There will be a question and answer session after the showing on Dec. 1. Tickets are $12.
Hendricks vs. Lawler II
The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be showing UFC 181: Hendricks vs. Lawler II live at area movie theaters, including Galaxy Monroe 12, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. The fight, which will be broadcast live from Las Vegas, is a rematch of March’s bout when Johny Hendricks beat Robbie Lawler. Tickets are $20 and are available at theater box offices and at www.FathomEvents.com.
Holiday classic
The classic bittersweet Christmas tale will be showing at 7 p.m. Dec. 22 and 23 at the Historic Everett Theatre. “It’s a Wonderful Life” lost money in its original run, but it lapsed into the public domain in 1973 and soon became a holiday classic. Tickets are $10.
