After two decades of running ferry service from Bellingham to Victoria, the “Victoria Star” is going to be put to new use.
The 100-foot ship is now offering San Juan Island day cruises, said Drew Schmidt, a spokesman for San Juan Cruises in Bellingham.
The eight-hour narrated trip includes whale watching, wildlife viewing, a stop in Friday Harbor, and an all-you-can-eat salmon and chicken buffet on the return trip.
New passport requirements for entry into Canada forced the company to redirect its effort, Schmidt said.
The cruise costs $89 for adults. Children rates are available. Through Sept. 25.
