Fall Out Boy, always the publicity hounds, is hitting the circuit to hawk its latest album, “Folie a Deux.”
One of their first stops was a New York City park. Things didn’t go quite as planned, though.
Apparently, the group didn’t have the necessary permits, and so the group couldn’t play a note – but it could sing a song. The result ends up being more entertaining than another acoustic performance, even if the long lead-in and outro get a bit dull.
Fall Out Boy with a big crowd – “Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy” – Sing-along
Since the group can’t play a note, Fall Out Boy end up leading a sing- and clap-along at Washington Square Park in New York City. The clip ends up being somewhat sweet, with lead singer Patrick Stump hesitant to break the news that the impromptu concert won’t go on. Bassist Pete Wentz misses the point when he says the group needs a guitar; as is, it’s a lot more memorable, with hundreds of fans joining in to sing a track from “Take This to Your Grave.”
Death Cab for Cutie with James Lipton – “Cath…” – Live
James Lipton has fun introducing Death Cab for Cutie’s performance, telling the Late Late Show audience that he has an “excellence fetish, which is to say that I tie excellence up and spank it.” He then talks about doing something violent and profane to himself. And then Death Cab plays.
