Holiday ornament making: Schack Art Center is offering holiday ornament making classes for all ages where participants can make a holiday ornament in 20 minutes or less and have plenty of cheer doing it. You’ll get to work with one of Schack’s skilled glassblowers to design and blow a glass holiday ornament. This family friendly class features holiday music and hot glass. To ensure a spot, sign up online ahead of time at www.schack.org. Ornament making runs through Dec. 21. Cost is $30.

At 5 p.m. Dec. 10, the eve of the longest night of the year, Camano Island artist Jack Gunter will unveil a group of paintings that capture the moment after sunset when all the color vanishes. This 10 works of art is Gunter’s “Nocturne Series” and he said “When I play in this monochromatic world I feel like an explorer.” The exhibition is open to the public noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and weekends by appointment through the New Year.

Museum of Northwest Art: 121 S.
