Mountain steward volunteers are needed this summer on the Mount Baker-area trail systems.
Training in low-impact recreational skills, natural history and backcountry management will be offered July 16 and 23. The program requires a commitment of three weekend days between July 23 and Sept. 11.
Mountain stewards work in lower segments of Baker’s trail systems to advise and provide information to hikers, backpackers and climbers.
Volunteers must be 18 or older with hiking and outdoor recreation skills. Apply by June 24.
