April Verch Band: The singer and fiddler performs at 4 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish. Verch and her band, Cody Walters on upright-electric bass and banjo and Lucas Chohany on guitar and mandolin, offer a fresh approach to deep North American traditions. Pacifica Chamber Orchestra: Season opening concert is 3 p.m. Sept. 27 at First Presbyterian, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Fred Chu leads the Pacifica musicians in a concert of Telemann, Milhaud and Brahms. More information is at www.pacificachamberorchestra.org.

Everett Philharmonic Orchestra: Information about the orchestra’s upcoming season is available at www.everettphil.org. The Philharmonic’s first concert is Oct. 3 featuring Shostakovich’s “Festival Overture” and Arutunian’s trumpet concerto performed by George Steward.

Violinist Cordula Merks, an assistant Seattle Symphony concertmaster, will open the season with the Sarasate Gypsy Airs and Chausson’s Poeme, Op. 25, on Oct. 26.
