A new production of “Godspell,” the story of Jesus based on the Gospel of St. Matthew, is sure to rock, because the actors will be backed by a rock band.
Whidbey Children’s Theater in Langley is presenting the musical starting at 7:30 tonight with shows on weekends through April 8.
The 1970s musical will feature a cast of 12 high school students. Choreography is by Suzanne Kelman and Marta Mulholland, with costumes conceived by director Allyson Brown and designed and constructed by Valerie Johnson.
A band providing the music includes Alan Brown on drums, Grant Neubauer on keyboards and Michael Yocco on bass.
Whidbey Children’s Theatre is at 222 Anthes Ave., Suite 102, Langley. Tickets are $6 to $12 at 360-221-2282 or www.WCTonline.com.
