The new visitors center project in Snohomish is expected to cost about $348,500 for an 880-square-foot building. This amounts to $396 per square foot. A manufactured building trucked to the site would have cost only about $40 per square foot.
The Snohomish City manager, Larry Bauman, even states that the center may not entice more visitors. I just hope that for $348,500, the visitors center will have posh public restrooms.
