The clouds parted long enough to reveal a lunar eclipse visible from downtown Everett on Wednesday night.
During a total lunar eclipse, the sun, the Earth and the moon align. The full moon travels into the Earth’s shadow, and the sunlight that usually illuminates the moon is blocked.
The next total lunar eclipse will be Dec. 20, 2010. Two eclipses occurred last year.
