Air Force Airman Meghan J. Carey has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Pennie and David Carey of Arlington and a 2004 graduate of Arlington High School.

Air Force Airman Justin D. Peattie has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Becky and David Peattie of Oak Harbor and a 2003 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

Air Force Airman Daniel T. Ricci has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Darren Ricci of Scottsdale, Ariz., and grandson of Darrell Ricci of Snoho­mish. Ricci is a 2003 graduate of Mount Vernon High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Danielle L. Bevans has arrived for duty at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Mont. Bevans, a security forces apprentice, is assigned to the 341st Security Forces Squadron. She is the daughter of Dan and Patti Bevans and granddaughter of Margaret Bevans, all of Everett.

Air Force Airman Johnathan C. Simon has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Rick and Donna Simon of Lake Stevens and a 2003 graduate of Granite Falls High School.

Air Force Airman Kyle C. Denike has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Patrick and Barbara Denike of Arlington and a 2005 graduate of Arlington High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Rebecca R. Chase has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Bill and Marilyn Chase of Lake Stevens. Chase graduated in 2005 from Lake Stevens High School and in 2007 from Everett Community College, where she earned an associate degree.

Navy Lt. Carlene R. Kennedy of Snohomish was promoted to her current rank at a ceremony Jan. 18 aboard the Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton, Calif., where Kennedy serves as a health care administrator for the Medical Service Corps. Kennedy graduated from Snohomish High School in 1994, Edmonds Community College in 1996 and Western Washington University in 1998. She and her husband, John, owned Kennedy’s Place Bistro in Everett when Kennedy joined the Navy Medical Service Corps in December 2003. They sold the business and moved to Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane while she finished her master’s degree in health policy and administration at Washington State University. After graduation in December 2005, she and her family moved to Camp Pendleton. She and her husband have five children: Elizabeth, Victoria, Audrey, Jack and Brody. Kennedy’s parents are Bruce and Kathy Brown and Dan and Pam James. They and her sisters, Liz Brown and Meghan James, all live in Snohomish.
