Army Sgt. Derek Frymire arrived home Aug. 31 from his second deployment to Iraq with the 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment. He is the husband of Phomal Frymire and father of Landon Frymire. His parents are Michael and Rebecca Frymire of Monroe.
Army Maj. Anne Marie (Olney) Sterling was promoted to her current rank in June. She is stationed at Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Sterling graduated from Cascade High School in 1996, from Seattle Pacific University in 2000, and earned her medical technology certificate at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She is the daughter of Peter and Margy Olney of Mill Creek.
Army National Guard Pvt. Tristan Roberts graduated from the field artillery automated tactical data systems specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Roberts is the son of Tammy Hemming of Marysville and the late Brent Roberts.
Army Pvt. Kyle J. Berry has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Berry is the son of Michael and Cora Berry of Monroe.
Navy Seaman Recruit Paul Chapman, son of Lorrie and stepson of Samuel MaGuire of Oak Harbor, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Corrine Gogert has graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps leader’s training course at Fort Knox, Ky. The cadet is a student at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, and is the daughter of Tom and Sandi Gogert of Arlington. The cadet is a 2007 graduate of Lakewood High School.
