SEATTLE — A Chicago-bound Amtrak train struck and killed a man walking along the tracks near Seattle on Wednesday.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway spokesman Gus Melonas says the man was in a noncrossing area when he was hit about 6:35 p.m. Wednesday.
Melonas says initial reports show no injuries to anyone on the train, and the train resumed travel about 8:30 p.m.
The unidentified man is the third person killed in 2008 on BNSF railways in Washington state, all in the Puget Sound area, Melonas said.
