Alexis Martin of Edmonds won the elite gold medal, first place jazz category, second place overall highest scoring solo for "Come on Over" and the judge’s award for "Work it Out."

Franci Andrade of Lynnwood won the elite gold medal, second place jazz category, fifth place overall highest scoring solo for "Stupid Cupid."

Tessa Vanderwielen of Mukilteo won the elite gold medal, second place acro category, ninth place overall highest scoring solo and second place costume award for "Little Egypt."

Landon Overturf of Mukilteo won the elite gold medal, second place open category for "Burnin’ Love" and judge’s award for "Mr. Macho."

Dancers Alexis Martin of Edmonds Juliana Jorgensen and Haydon Overturf of Mukilteo won $75, first place in category, first place overall highest scoring duo-trio and the elite gold medal for "Material Girl."

Dancers Martin, Jorgensen, Overturf and Mattias Ostervold of Mukilteo, Franci Andrade of Lynnwood and Kyle Zimmerman of Brier won $200, the Platinum medal award, first place in category, first place in overall highest score and choreographer award for "Think."

Dancers Overturf and Janeesa Northcott of Mukilteo, Aneeka Acode and Mickenzie Gibbons of Lynnwood and Taylor Kennedy of Mill Creek won the elite gold medal, first place in character category, second place overall highest score for "Witch Doctor" and judges award for "Hot Papas and Mamas."

Dancers Martin, Acode, Andrade, Madison Nevin, Jada Thomas-Favette of Lynnwood, Jorgensen, Overturf, Ostervold, Tessa Vanderwielen, Northcott and Zimmerman won $100, the elite gold medal, first place in category, first place in overall highest scoring large group and third place in overall highest score for "Hard Knock Life" and the judges’ award for "most entertaining."

Martin, Overturf, Jorgensen and Acode were invited to tour during the summer to New York, Las Vegas, Orlando, Fla., and Ocean City with Starpower’s Power Pak.

Edmonds Citizen of the Year: Dale E. Hoggins of Edmonds was recognized as Citizen of the Year by the City Council this week, as well as by the Sno-King Kiwanis Club of Edmonds and the Edmonds Senior Kiwanis Club. Hoggins has been an Edmonds resident for 48 years, worked as an educator in the school district for 30 years, served as chairman of the cemetery board, member of Edmonds United Methodist Church, Edmonds Friends of the Library, Edmonds South County Historical Society, Alderwood Manor Heritage Association and former past president of Lynnwood Rotary; and served in the State House of Representatives from 1968-1974.

Business award: Danny Albro of Lakewood High School won fourth place in "Technology Concepts" at the Northwest Region Winter Conference for Future Business Leaders of America at Warm Beach. More than 330 students competed. Albro will compete at the State Leadership Conference April 22 and 23 in Yakima.
