ARLINGTON — Arlington detectives arrested a “serial robbery suspect” this week, the police department announced Thursday.
The Arlington man, 27, allegedly robbed at least three places in July 2020, according to a news release. That includes the Shell gas station in the 3300 block of 172nd Street NE, the Smokey Point Motor Inn in the 17300 block of Smokey Point Drive, and the Little Caesars Pizza in the 17300 block of Smokey Point Boulevard.
In each incident, the robber threatened employees with a knife, took cash from a register, and ran away, according to police. Each time, officers searched for a suspect, but couldn’t find one.
Eventually, police identified the suspect with the help of an anonymous tip. They then linked each crime scene through DNA evidence.
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of three counts of robbery.
