Snohomish: Meet to design neighborhood
The Snohomish Planning Commission will use its Wednesday meeting to discuss development of a neighborhood near the city’s historic downtown.
To date, discussions have focused on turning part of the Pilchuck District Neighborhood into an area with more homes and street-level shops — a walkable living community. No formal action has been made yet toward development.
The commission wants to hear comment from city staff and community members as it guides development of the area, which is loosely bounded by the Pilchuck River, Rainier Street, Glen Avenue and Sixth Street.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the George Gilbertson Board Room, 1601 Ave. D, Snohomish.

Riverfront development hearing is rescheduled
City officials have finished taking written comments on the Everett Riverfront Redevelopment Final Environmental Impact Statement. However, the public may still weigh in at a public hearing, rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. March 31 in City Council Chambers, 3002 Wetmore Ave.
The Riverfront development is a multi-million dollar project that would bring shops and condos as well as extensive shoreline restoration to more than 200 acres next to the Snohomish River.
