EDMONDS — A Lynnwood woman who works for Harvey’s Lounge was arrested Wednesday for investigation of malicious harassment stemming from a Feb. 5 incident outside the club, Edmonds police said.
The woman, 45, was recorded on surveillance video wielding a baseball bat and yelling toward two siblings, ages 14 and 18. The pair said she told them to leave and used a racial slur.
The encounter drew scrutiny after the teens’ mother posted about it on social media.
An Edmonds detective determined there were inconsistencies in the club employee’s story and reason to believe the teens were threatened because of their race. She was booked into the county jail, Edmonds police Sgt. Josh McClure said in a press release.
“We recognize the emotion that these types of incidents can create and will do our part to hold any perpetrator accountable if we establish that a crime has been committed,” Edmonds Police Chief Al Compaan said. “We appreciate the ongoing support of the community in the interest of public safety.”
