MONROE – Police arrested a man in connection with the early Tuesday killing of a 46-year-old motel manager in Monroe.
The arrest was made Tuesday afternoon in Monroe without incident, Monroe police administrative bureau Chief Debbie Willis said.
Detectives had some information about who the suspect might be, tracked him down and took him into custody, she said.
The suspect’s name was not immediately released. The same was true for the identity of the motel manager.
The attack happened at about 1 a.m. today at the Brookside Motel on the east side of town.
Detectives spent the morning investigating at the business in the 19900 block of U.S. 2.
The motel manager was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he died.
The case initially was treated as a serious assault. Just before noon, police said the investigation was focusing on homicide.
