An employee at Bainbridge High School has been arrested in connection with the 911 gun scare at BHS earlier this week.
Officials with the Bainbridge Island School District announced Friday that Michael Krysinski, an employee at BHS, was arrested by Bainbridge police late Thursday afternoon.
Krysinski, 50, was booked into Kitsap County Jail just after 6:30 p.m. Thursday on a misdemeanor charge of false reporting.
Bail was set at $5,000. He remained in jail early Friday.
District officals said Krysinski — who works in building and property security — has been placed him on administrative leave pending further investigation.
BHS was put on lockdown for approximately 30 minutes — along with nearby Commodore Options and Ordway Elementary schools — Wednesday after 911 dispatchers received an anonymous call that claimed a student with a gun had entered the high school cafeteria.
The call, which Bainbridge police determined came from within the BHS campus, prompted a massive response of island and off-island police units to the high school campus.
No gun or suspect was found, and the lockdown was lifted shortly after noon April 13.
District officials said they are appreciative of the supportand swift action of Bainbridge police and will continue to work closely with the police department as the investigation continues.
