A suspected bank robber nabbed with the help of an alert waitress was being held on $75,000 bail after making an appearance Wednesday in Everett District Court.
Michael Charles Warner, 53, told Everett officers he is a former Oregon resident who recently moved to Everett.
He was arrested at the 112th Street Diner not long after a disguised man walked into a branch of First Security Bank of Washington on Tuesday morning, told a teller he had a gun and walked out with a large wad of cash.
The waitress, Terry Fleischbein, became suspicious of a customer who arrived soon after the holdup and didn’t seem alarmed about the robbery.
Police questioned him, and then spotted a bulge in his pocket when officers were about to release Warner. The serial numbers on the bills in his pocket corresponded with money taken from the bank, court documents said.
