BELLINGHAM — A Bellingham man is accused of selling Border Patrol maps to a man he thought was a drug smuggler.
The Bellingham Herald reported that the maps showed the location of sensors and cameras along the Canadian border in Western Washington.
The maps were apparently found in materials sold at a garage sale at a Border Patrol agent’s house.
Homeland Security was tipped that the suspect was trying to sell the maps. An undercover agent pretending to be a drug trafficker paid $6,000 for them at a Sept. 26. Then agents moved in and made the arrest.
The suspect is held at the Federal Detention Center in SeaTac while the case moves through federal court in Seattle.
