MARYSVILLE — Some north Marysville residents and businesses were without running water Tuesday morning as crews worked to repair a broken water main.
The break occurred in front of Lowe’s Home Improvement Monday afternoon, flooding the parking lot, city spokesperson Connie Mennie said. She said the cause was a faulty valve on a 55-year-old, 12-inch iron pipe.
Crews isolated the break overnight and began repairs in the morning.
During the repairs, water service was shut off to customers in the area bordered by 172nd and 152nd streets NE, I-5 and Smokey Point Boulevard. Mennie said the city expects to resume water service Tuesday afternoon.
The break may have caused dirty or cloudy water for customers in a larger area. Those with dirty or cloudy water should run their taps until the water runs clear.
Meanwhile, temperatures were forecast to reach the upper 80s.
