Are you building raised beds this spring?
I highly recommend them for growing just about any kind of food. They warm up more quickly, drain better and when you’re building fresh, you can add fresh soil and compost to create the perfect veggie environment.

You might also consider, if you’re out of your ever-lovin’ mind, building a raised bed out of bricks and mortar.
My husband Matt and I made one out of pavers and mortar a couple years ago and my tomatoes, lettuce and peas loved it. It’s 22 feet long and about 2 feet wide and runs the entire length of our tiny backyard. It was exhausting work for both of us and it took nearly three Saturdays to get it all done.
But here’s the best part: I can sit on the edge of it without getting dirty, which makes it really easy to plant, tend and harvest.
You can’t say that about a traditional raised bed.
