MUKILTEO – The Everett Clinic was shut down Tuesday following an accidental chemical spill.

About 50 people were evacuated around noon when someone used a household cleaner on an antiseptic spill.

The clinic, at 4410 106th St. SW, is expected to reopen today.

Lynnwood: 3 arrested in counterfeit ring

Police said they uncovered a counterfeiting ring after a woman allegedly tried to pass a bogus traveler’s check.

The woman was arrested Saturday after she tried to cash a check with fake identification at a business in the 4400 block of 168th Street SW, Sgt. Jerry Riener said Tuesday.

Employees refused to take the check and called police, who were able to stop the woman. Police found counterfeit traveler’s checks in her vehicle, Riener said.

Detectives were able to trace the bogus checks to a Lynnwood townhouse, where two additional people were arrested. Several computers in the process of producing counterfeit documents were also seized.

Police also found counterfeit money, fake checks, Social Security cards and identifications. They also found what appeared to be stolen mail, including personal information.

The suspects appeared to be stealing mail to produce fake identifications, Riener said.

Mill Creek: Police search for car thief

Police were searching for a car thief who stole a maroon 1993 Honda Accord and led police on a chase Tuesday.

The car was taken about 4:30 a.m. from the 14300 block of 15th Drive SE. Dispatchers broadcast the Honda’s description, and it was spotted by a Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy.

The deputy tried to stop the driver in Everett, Mill Creek and Mukilteo.

Two people were seen in the vehicle. The driver was wearing a hooded sweat shirt that covered the person’s head and face.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Mill Creek Police Department at 425-337-1115 or call 911.
