The Everett PTSA Council Reflections Exhibition will be on public display at the Everett School District’s administration service center, 4730 Colby Ave., from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays Thursday through Jan. 26.
More than 280 artistic creations of students from 20 schools in the Everett School District are featured. Entries include work in visual arts, literature, musical composition, film-video, choreography-dance and photography.
Anyone is invited to celebrate the work of these young artists at a reception at the center from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19.
Scouts organize a new derby
The Puget Sound district of the Boy Scouts of America plans a new Cub Scout Pinewood Derby for boys who joined the organization in the fall, from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Seaview Chevrolet, 17909 Highway 99 in Lynnwood.
Boys and their families are encouraged to visit. Some derby cars will be available for boys who are interested in racing. Derby kits will be made available to Cub Scouts who attend the event.
The Cub Scout program is offered to boys up to the fifth grade. The program, offered through Boy Scouts of America, is designed to foster a positive self-image and provide friends, skills and adventure.
Bothell will train stream volunteers
Bothell seeks volunteers for a training seminar on the North Creek Stream and Habitat Project from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Dawson Building, 9654 NE 182nd St.
The seminar will teach the importance of preserving North Creek, and volunteers can take that information to classrooms, community groups and civic organizations.
In 2002, the city was awarded a $498,000 Centennial Clean Water Fund grant, the largest grant given by the state Department of Ecology. The grant is being used to study water quality issues in North Creek and its tributaries.

Chamber to study its bylaws
The Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce has formed a bylaws review committee, with Al Robinson as chairman. The first bylaws review meeting will be at 8 a.m. Jan. 11 at the Dutch Cup Restaurant, 927 U.S. 2 in Sultan.
