SEATTLE — Colton Harris-Moore didn’t have fun and didn’t enjoy his two-year crime spree, his lawyer said this afternoon.
John Henry Browne said his client is concerned that other kids may imitate his misbehavior. The so-called “Barefoot Bandit” said it was inappropriate to be called a folk hero.
Harris-Moore, 19, had a brief appearance in federal court in Seattle this afternoon. He’s charged with a single count of flying a stolen plane from Idaho to Granite Falls.
The Camano Island fugitive didn’t contest prosecutors’ requests to keep him locked up.
It’s unclear when Harris-Moore will be due back in court.
The FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s office said the investigation continues and more charges are likely.
Browne said Harris-Moore is “really a kid,” and on Thursday was suffering a bad cold caught in jail in Miami. It’s the first cold he’s suffered in the past two years, Browne said.
