Fill the Boot: Lake Stevens Firefighters’ Local 3235 concludes its Fill the Boot for MDA drive, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 22 at the intersection of Market Place and 91st Avenue.

Supply drive: Members of Junior Girl Scouts Troop 44549 are earning their Bronze Award by collecting school and art supplies for the Seattle Children’s Hospital Child Life Department. Scout volunteers will be collecting donations of new and unwrapped supplies, games and gift cards 2-4:30 p.m. Aug. 24 and 4-6:30 p.m. Aug. 26-27 outside the Mill Creek Staples, 16232 Bothell-Everett Highway. Work clothing, YWCA: The YWCA Working Women’s Wardrobe program is in need of personal care and feminine hygiene products and also large department store clothing bags. The items may be dropped off at 3301 Broadway, Everett. Working Wardrobe provides interview- or work-appropriate clothing free to more than 1,100 women a year. More info: 425-258-2766.

Donate clothing: Faith Lutheran Church, 6708 Cady Road in Everett, seeks help with its Community Meals program through donations of gently used or new cold-weather clothing, including boots, shoes, sweaters, coats, gloves and warm socks for both kids and adults. Children’s books and magazines also are needed. All donations appreciated.

Help with wardrobes: Clothes For Kids, a Lynnwood nonprofit that provides wardrobes for low-income families, seeks volunteers to help sort clothes, stock shelves, assist shoppers and more. Volunteer Chore Services: This program of Catholic Community Services seeks volunteers to assist with household chores and more, enabling elders and adults with disabilities to remain independent in their own homes. Balance class: Learn about fall hazards and change your thinking about inactivity at a free, eight-session “Matter of Balance” workshop, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays through Sept. 8 at the Northshore Senior Center, 10201 East Riverside Drive, Bothell. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes. The class is designed for anyone who has become less active due to fear of falling, uses assistive devices or has had a fall. Registration is required. Enhance Fitness: Group Health Medicare members are invited to take a low-impact aerobics class for free. The class, for ages 50 and older, runs 8:45-9:45 a.m. weekdays in five-week sessions at the Carl Gipson Senior Center, 3025 Lombard Ave. in Everett. The current session began July 31. Driving safety class, Arlington: A “55 Alive” defensive driving class is offered 9 a.m.-1 p.m. the third Tuesday and Wednesday of each month at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. Cost is $12 AARP members, $14 non-members. To sign up, call 360-653-4551.
