LAKE STEVENS — Sunnycrest Elementary School was closed Friday after a water main broke on the street near the campus, Lake Stevens School District officials said.
Crews worked Friday to repair the pipe, said Arlene Hulten, the district’s director of communications. Kids who were alone at their bus stops were picked up and taken to the school until parents could be contacted, she said.
School was expected to resume Monday.
About 600 kids attend the elementary at 3411 99th Ave. NE.
