EVERETT — Snohomish County Fire District 4 first responders extinguished a fire that engulfed the front of a Community Transit bus Friday morning.
Around 7 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a bus on fire in the 3700 block of Bickford Avenue in Snohomish. The driver and the three passengers on the bus evacuated without injury, according to a press release. Firefighters used 600 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.
The bus was serving Community Transit’s Route 270 between Everett and Gold Bar. After the passengers evacuated, the transit agency sent a bus to pick them up that arrived about 20 minutes later, said Martin Munguia, a Community Transit spokesperson. No other bus delays due to the fire were reported.
The Community Transit bus had a traditional diesel engine, the fire district reported, and no lithium batteries were involved in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Correction: A previous version of this story listed the incorrect route number between Everett and Gold Bar. It is 270, not 271.
