BEND, Ore. — The CEO for Consumer Cellular says the company has hired about 45 T-Mobile call center employees as it prepares to open its own call center in Redmond, Ore.
The Redmond T-Mobile USA Call Center closed in June at a cost to the city of about 360 jobs.
Portland-based Consumer Cellular on Monday will open its call center in the former T-Mobile USA Call Center location
CEO John Marick told the Bend Bulletin that the company likely will continue adding employees. He said that starting in September, Consumer Cellular will host job fairs to bring on about 25 employees a month.
He said the goal is to employ 150 people by the end of the year.
Marick says the Redmond location will be Consumer Cellular’s third call center.
