SEATTLE — A Superior Court judge has sent a contractor who scammed two building owners to the King County Jail.
Judge Theresa Doyle ordered Collin Patrick Chester on Friday to spend four months in jail and pay $25,000 in restitution.
Chester pleaded guilty in December to two felony charges of first-degree theft.
In one case, the owner of the Quality Inn in Renton agreed to pay Chester $70,000 to replace a roof. But Chester hired an unregistered subcontractor who tore off part of the roof and then left because he hadn’t been paid. The hotel suffered water damage when it rained.
In another case, Chester agreed to build a new roof on a building in Shoreline, but did no work.
