A reference on Page A1 in some copies of Thursday’s Herald inaccurately described the reason Dan Taylor no longer serves as Meadowdale High School’s head girls basketball coach.
Acting on his own accord, Taylor resigned as coach to spend more time with his family and to make a professional change. He will continue to teach physical education and health in the Edmonds School District. The Herald regrets the error.
On Thursday, the Edmonds School District issued a clarification to comments its spokeswoman made concerning an investigation into Taylor’s work as a coach. Those comments were reported in a story that appeared Thursday on Page C1 of the Sports section. The subsequent clarification said the district had “completed its investigatory interviews,” prior to Taylor’s resignation, “but we had not finalized any employment decisions.”
Another source, Nalin Sood, president of the Edmonds Education Coaches Association, also said that at the time Taylor resigned, “the investigation was closed, from what we had heard.”
