EVERETT — Snohomish County is looking for volunteers to help set design guidelines for large-scale urban center developments such as the one proposed at Point Wells.
Applicants to the county’s Urban Centers Design Review Board should be well-informed members of the public without conflicts of interest that would prevent them from serving objectively. They also must possess a passion for neighborhood land-use issues.
The board is authorized under county code and serves in an advisory role for urban center development applications. It only reviews a project if an applicant fails to reach a design agreement with the city or town in whose urban growth area the project is located or borders.

The deadline for applications has been extended until Sept. 2.
