EVERETT — A North Carolina couple wanted for investigation of an egregious case of child abuse was arrested in Snohomish County earlier this week.
The Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force caught up with the couple around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 5700 block of SW 141st Street. The task force recovered three firearms during the arrest, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
Nathanial and Diandra Webb, 33 and 28, had warrants for their arrest out of Wake County, North Carolina. He was wanted for allegedly inflicting serious bodily injury to their infant child, Ireton said.
Those injuries included fractures to the child’s skull, ribs, collar bone, legs and feet. The child was about five weeks old in June when the injuries were reported.
The couple was reported to have fled North Carolina on July 19 and warrants were issued for their extradition. They were believed to be in possession of firearms.
Established in 2013, the violent offender task force is a partnership with the sheriff’s office, the U.S. Marshals Service and state Department of Corrections. As of Sept. 28, it had made 970 felony arrests, including 24 homicide suspects, and recovered 153 firearms.
