JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD — A judge is deliberating the verdict in a court martial at Joint Base Lewis-McChord for a soldier accused of misconduct in Afghanistan.
The trial for 22-year-old Spc. Corey Moore of Redondo Beach, Calif., was held Wednesday after a one-day delay.
He pleaded guilty to some accusations — that he kicked a witness in a drug investigation and stabbed a corpse — but disputed other charges, including drug use.
If convicted he could face more than 11 years in prison.
Moore is one of a dozen 5th Stryker Brigade soldiers accused of crimes in Afghanistan. Five are charged with murder in the deaths of three Afghan civilians.
