Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent Everett crime news, provided by police:

Everett

  • 3400 block of 23rd Street, March 5. A resident reported that a dog snatched a pet cat from a porch. The dog’s owner denied that her dogs were loose. Police advised her to put the dogs inside her house when her kennel wasn’t working. The cat, which was in the family for 14 years, was not found at the time.

  • 1900 block of Oakes Avenue, March 6. A 63-year-old Everett man reported finding a .22-caliber Derringer-style gun in his front yard. Two rounds of ammunition were found in it. The resident believes the firearm was dumped overnight in his yard.

  • 2100 block of Chestnut Street, March 6. A man reported that his 1993 Honda was prowled. The dash panel, an amplifier, a stereo and a speaker were reported stolen. The loss was estimated at $850.

  • 700 block of Hawthorne Street, March 6. A woman told police both her cars were broken into. Nothing was missing from the cars. Damage was estimated at $200.

  • 1900 block of Wall Street, March 7. An inmate at the Snohomish County Jail allegedly damaged the ceiling of his cell, causing more than $300 in damage. The suspect, 21, was cited for malicious mischief and booked for the additional charge.

  • 1600 block of Walnut Street, March 8. Someone reportedly broke into a house and stole about $600 worth of property.

  • 2300 block of Broadway, March 9. An undercover officer picked up a Marysville woman, 37, on Broadway. During a ride in the officer’s car the woman allegedly agreed to have sex with the officer for money. The officer stopped at a nearby gas station, where a detective arrested the woman for investigation of prostitution. She was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

  • 6100 block of Pebble Place, March 9. A woman, 20, was arrested for theft after she allegedly ran up a $49 taxi fare and failed to pay. She was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

  • 1600 block of Broadway, March 11. A man reportedly robbed a Plaid Pantry. The suspect implied he had a gun and fled the store with $50 to $60 cash.

  • 1600 block of Pacific Avenue, March 11. A clerk told police he was assaulted by a man who stole money from a charity bowl at the 7-Eleven store. Police found the man at the Chevron station in the 3100 block of Broadway after someone reported he was being a nuisance. The man was arrested for theft and assault.

  • 2600 block of Walnut Street, March 12. Someone reportedly stole $237 worth of lottery scratch tickets from the Shell station. The clerk was on a break in the backroom during the theft.

  • 3000 block of Everett Avenue, March 13. An Espresso Time clerk reported that a man implied he had a gun and demanded that she give him all the money in the cash register. The clerk gave him more than $200, and the robber fled. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

  • 1500 block of 112th Street SE, March 14. A Unocal gas station clerk reported that he was robbed at 3:35 a.m. by a person who stole $110 from the cash register. Police searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.

  • 3100 block of Hoyt Avenue, March 14. U.S. Postal Service staff reported that an Everett man who forgot the key to his rented mailbox pried the box open and took his mail. Police found the man in his car in the post office parking lot and arrested him. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of cocaine possession. He agreed to pay for repairs to the mailbox.

  • 8400 block of Seventh Avenue SE, March 13. A security camera was reported stolen. Loss: $800.

  • 10100 block of Seventh Avenue SE, March 15. Someone at the Wild Reed apartment complex reported that mailboxes had been broken into. It was unknown what was taken. The estimated cost of replacing the mailboxes is $5,000.

  • 9000 block of W. Mall Drive, March 15. An Everett woman reported that a collection agency said she owed $1,820 on a credit card. The woman told police someone else obtained the card in her name and ran up the bill.

  • 2300 block of Grand Avenue, March 16. An Everett officer found a stolen vehicle and returned it to its registered owner. The car’s stereo had been removed from the dashboard.

  • 10100 block of Seventh Avenue SE, March 16. An Everett man reported that three money orders were stolen from the mailbox of the Wild Reed apartment complex. The man contacted the provider of the money orders to stop payments.

  • 2800 block of Broadway, March 16. Someone reportedly climbed over a fence at the Volunteers of America office and stole clothing from a donation bin.

  • 1700 block of W. Marine View Drive, March 17. A Stanwood man reported that someone threw a rock and shattered the front window of the semitruck he was driving.

    Snohomish County report: 10 bridges set for repairs, replacement

    An annual report the county released May 22 details the condition of local bridges and future maintenance they may require.

    Providence Everett plans 25% cut to nursing assistant staffing
