Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent neighborhood crime news from Everett, provided by police:

Everett

* 3700 block of Smith Avenue, Oct. 16. An officer arrested a man who was allegedly camping illegally in his vehicle. The officer reported warning the man once before. The man was booked into jail for the offense and an outstanding warrant.

* 9600 block of Evergreen Way, Oct. 16. A man, 35, was cited for jaywalking. When he refused to sign the citation, he was arrested and booked into jail.

* 2400 block of Broadway, Oct. 17. A man, 25, was arrested for shoplifting a pack of cigarettes from the 25th Street Market. The suspect was arrested the day before for theft. He told police he needed cigarettes. He was booked into jail.

* 1000 block of Broadway, Oct. 17. An officer was checking license plates of vehicles at the Topper Motel and allegedly found a car that was reported stolen in San Diego, Calif. The driver, a 20-year-old Arlington woman, was arrested at the motel.

* 6300 block of Cady Road, Oct. 17. A man reported hearing a thumping noise in his backyard. He found a sliding glass door open and his girlfriend’s purse open with cash on the table. Police were unable to find any suspects. Nothing was missing.

* 2500 block of Oakes Avenue, Oct. 18. Police arrested a man for crashing his Bronco through another man’s fence and wedging the vehicle between the victim’s house and a neighbor’s house. The suspect backed out and drove off. Police found him, and he was arrested on suspicion of a hit-and-run accident. He also had a warrant for driving with a suspended license. The victim told police the suspect had a grievance with him.

* 11300 block of 19th Avenue SE, Oct. 18. A State Patrol trooper and an officer were checking license plates for stolen cars when they came across one registered to a man reported missing. The trooper questioned the man, who promised to call his mother. The trooper also called the mother to tell her that her son had been located in Everett.

* 9900 block of Evergreen Way, Oct. 18. A woman reported that someone started a fire next to her place of work, and the side of the building was scorched. She told the officer she suspects that transients may have set the fire. No suspects were located.

* 2400 block of Cedar Street, Oct. 19. A man, 19, was cited on suspicion of theft after a woman reportedly saw him siphoning gas from a truck belonging to a woman.

* 1300 block of SE Everett Mall Way, Oct. 19. Police arrested a Kirkland woman on suspicion of shoplifting a $59.99 pair of Nike shoes.

* 5300 block of Evergreen Way, Oct. 19. A black pocket motorcycle was reported stolen from a pawnshop.
