SNOHOMISH — If these shot glasses could talk, they’d maybe spin a yarn that reads like an old Western, complete with whiskey, a revolver, a stolen safe and a trip for two to the hoosegow.
Here’s what police reports say happened Monday night:
Four people were drinking at an apartment on the 700 block of Avenue B.
After downing a slug of whiskey, the host – a 51-year-old felon – became convinced his guests stole his vintage shot glasses. He claimed they were 101-years-old, meaning they would have outlasted Prohibition, two world wars and 17 U.S presidents.
Witnesses told police the man started to “freak out.” He pulled a silver revolver from a top drawer and pointed it at his drinking buddies.
A 27-year-old man began to fight with the older man. The guests eventually escaped, but not before the younger man allegedly stole the man’s safe.
Snohomish police arrested the younger man on suspicion of robbery.
The older man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
No word on the fate of the shot glasses.
