Police investigate

report of luring

Police are on the hunt for a man who reportedly attempted to lure two teenage girls into his pickup truck Monday afternoon.

The first attempt happened about 2:20 p.m. in the 11800 block of Freeway Place.

The man drove up to a 15-year-old girl and offered her marijuana. When she refused, he demanded she get inside his truck, according Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen.

When that failed, the man drove two blocks to the 12200 block of Eighth Drive SE, where he approached another 15-year-old girl and demanded she get inside his vehicle, Jorgensen said.

The girl received a call on her cellphone from the first girl, a friend, who warned her about the man, Jorgensen said.

‘When he knew what was going on he sped off," she said.

The man has curly hair and is fairly young. He was wearing a baseball cap and drove a small, white pickup with no license plates.
