PORT ORCHARD — A 27-year-old man has been sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison for a car crash where he struck and killed a pedestrian and critically injured another near Bremerton.
The Kitsap Sun reported that Daniel Krogman was sentenced Monday to 78 months in prison, the lowest sentence for which he was eligible.
He pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide for the death of 23-year-old Alana Kemppainen-Cartwright on Sept. 10, 2014.
Kemppainen-Cartwright and her friend Andrew O’Brien were walking home from the same bar where Krogman had been drinking before he got behind the wheel. O’Brien was injured in the crash.
At his sentencing, Krogman apologized to Kemppainen-Cartwright’s family and to O’Brien.
