EVERETT — An Edmonds man has been convicted of second-degree murder in the December 2016 beating death of a woman.
David Hoar, 64, was found guilty Monday of killing Samantha Ellis. The woman, 45, had shared an apartment with Hoar. She died from multiple blows to the head.
Hoar had claimed the woman fell multiple times in the days before he called police to report that she had died. An autopsy found evidence that she’d been struck multiple times and also had injuries consistent with someone stomping on her face.
Hoar’s sentencing in scheduled for June 1 in Snohomish County Superior Court.
